Volunteer Opportunities
Opportunities to share your talents:
FACILITATORS: Sign up for a month at a time. Ages listed for the various playgroups are guidelines; mothers are allowed to have their children attend whichever group best fits their child's development level, rather than going strictly by age. Facilitators are encouraged to ask for participation, supplies and help from their groups and/or Board members as needed. Facilitators may use their discretion about frequency of playgroups based on attendance and interest of members in those groups.
KID'S CLUB: Watches children during monthly Club meetings. Sign up for a meeting at a time.
NEWSLETTER EDITOR: Create, publish and mail monthly newsletter using existing formats and software templates if desired. Or use your skills to create a style all your own!
CALENDAR COORDINATOR: Working with Facilitators to create a monthly activities calendar. Handing over to Newsletter Editor for publishing.
MOMS Brunch: Coordinate a monthly brunch for moms and children. Pot Luck or meeting at kid-friendly restaurants have been successful.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE: Keep track of family births, deaths, and other occasions. Contact members to request volunteers to cook and deliver meals to new mothers or families who are experiencing difficult times.
MOMS NIGHT OUT: Coordinate a monthly activity for mothers to attend without their children. An occasional breather for those of us who really need it!
OPEN HOUSE COMMITTEE: Work with Membership V.P. to coordinate a successful Open House to recruit members and inform the community about our service.
SERVICE PROJECTS: Work with others on various service projects which benefit children and mothers within our communities! A way to make a difference, one small step at a time!
HALLOWEEN PARTY: Working with one of your playgroups to plan a spectacular party for the kids!
CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY: Working with one of your playgroups to plan a magical fun-filled Christmas party for the people who mean the most to us in all the world - our children!
MOMS CHRISTMAS PARTY: Work with others to plan a party just for us!
SPRING FLING: : Work with others to plan a family picnic for moms, dads, and kids.
BABY SITTING CO-OP CHAIR: Establish and/or coordinate a baby sitting Co-op for interested members to get a break!
RAFFLE BASKET: Donate gift basket for monthly meeting give away.
Executive Board Positions
PRESIDENT: Presides at meetings, liaison with other organizations, MOMS Club corporation, and the community, organizes local group's activities, responsible for preparing and presenting reports as required.
ADMINISTRATIVE VICE PRESIDENT: Assists President as needed, assume duties of President when she is not available, coordinate service projects.
MEMBERSHIP VICE PRESIDENT: Promote membership, publicize within the community, assist the Treasurer in the collection of dues, coordinate hospitality at meetings.
SECRETARY: Compile member roster, coordinate and prepare correspondence as needed, transcribe minutes of club, special and Board meetings.
TREASURER: Responsible for all funds and deposits of the group, maintain financial records, receive and disperse funds, give proper vouchers and receipts for transactions, prepare and present financial reports as needed.
A new trend in executive board positions is now that two members join forces and fill one position. This has worked out well over the past two years. So if you feel that you do not have enough time to do the position the whole year by yourself, recruit a fellow member and share the duties. |
